DOVER SPEEDWAY IN SEPTEMBER
« on: August 22, 2005, 09:23:04 pm »
Hi All:

Just nailed a weekend at the upcoming Nascar Dover, Deleware race in September 23rd thru 25th.

It is going to be a TWO RV trip with 4 guys this time, once again I played Logistics guy and bought the tickets and arranged the campground.

I can then say I've been to an OVAL and a Road Course and (except for a trip to Richmond to see Big Rog - hopefully NEXT Summer) That should be it for my Nascar racing. As always, TV is the best seat in the house and the price can't be beat!!!

I have made a real promise to myself to get back into the forum heavy duty once this Summer and camping season is over. I use THOSE as excuses, but in reality FAMILY HEALTH ISSUES are REALLY keeping me away more than the few days I get away from home this Summer.

I've mentioned my Mother's health and now she is dealing with the worse cancer (her 4th battle with cancer now) in the last ten years - this time (due to her poor health) she is NOT a candidate for surgury, even if she wante it - which she does not.

I want you all to know my thoughts are with you and my mind is on my family - surely, the forum does well without me here typing endless answers to simple questions. All of you are wonderful and helpful to each other and the forum is a SERVICE that I am proud to host, not a neccessary cog in the wheel to keep it going. The membership is more than capable of growning and thriving without my daily chatter :)

Talk soon again all. I'll keep you all posted on everything as it transpires at Beemaster Central. God Bless you all and happy beekeeping!!!!

HI, I just seen your post for the Dover race in Sept. and that you also went in June. I assume you are taking a RV but I was wondering when you were there in June if you seen any tent camping. Just curious, any time and information would be appreciated. thanks carey

Where did you stay?

I hate race weekend here, the traffic gets nuts. Its almost as bad during Punkin Chunkin, and if punkin chunkin is the same weekend as the race, I don't leave my property.

I stayed about 10 miles from the track at a Mormon Campground (didn't know about the Mormon part until there - very strict with quiet hours, which is fine by me) it was NOT in Deleware, it was just into Maryland.

There are really only two campgrounds within 20 miles of the track using woodalls Camping Directory, but where we stayed had LOTS of tent sites - a coworker stayed there with us in his tent about 7 sites from my RV.

Here is my RV by the way www.beemaster.com/bus.html - I have a few trips listed there and lots of photos.

Parking around the track (in shopping mall parking lots, etc.) is expensive - we paid $30 for our car for the day and it was almost 1/2 mile from the track.

I can't remember the name of the place, but search www.woodalls.com and you should find it.
