Hi, My name is Brad Raspet and I have 24 honey bee colonies sprinkled around Skagit County in the Northwest part of Washington State. We are half-way between Seattle, WA & Vancouver, Canada. I'm just starting my 4th year as a beekeeper, and having fun! :^)

I'm currently secretary of our local beekeepers club - Skagit Valley Beekeepers Association. I'm interested in sharing ideas and current practice in regards to keeping our bees healthy and happy...

Welcome Brad.  I'm south of you down in Lewis County.  Lots of great folks in here, and tons of information.

Brad do you get pollen off those jillion tulips/dafodils et cetera?  Your soil amazes me.  Does anyone ever get stuck in those fields?  I saw them driving in standing water.

No, tulips bloom in April... bees are bring in maple tree & dandelion pollen about then. I suppose people get stuck in the mud upon occasion but I've only been stuck once and I've moved most of my hives out of ag-land, seem to do better in the foothills. :^)
