Has anyone heard of this - and is it in use or still being tested.

It's still being tested, is still not available.  Even the version for termite control is no longer available.

I read that in australia they use it for grasshoppers there must be someway to get some. I fear when we get a chance at it is will be slightly higher than gold dust
