Welcome :-D

Yes indeed to the smoker. Of course then ya gotta learn how to keep it going - sometimes that is hit or miss and usually out when ya need it!

Welcome! Where in FL are you? (you may want to fill in your location on your profile)Some problems are area specific and what works for me here might not work as well for someone in say Tampa.

It's great to have another FL beek here!

Welcome!  I use smoker to, with burlap found at dollar store!  Light the burlap when it is in strips then drop it into the smoker and leave the top open.  Puff the bellow until I see fire a foot tall and then I close it, it stays burning until out of burlap for me.  I gotta remember to clean it twice a year though.  Have a great day with the forum! :)

Up here in NY we have a dollar store "everything's a dollar" next to the chinese restaurant and they sell used apple, coffee burlap bags that have the tops cut open.  They are half as big as me and would work good for picking apples and stuff, but I cut them into strips for my smoker.  The top and bottoms are sewn and someone cuts the tops with a knife or something instead of untieing so they sell them at the dollar store.  Amazing! :-D

I'll have to check the dollar stores around here. I use pine straw which works well but I'd like to see what kind of smoke burlap gives...
