We only have 1 hive in SE Virginia, but it seems to be going well. Bottom 2 brood boxes are nearly full. The cotton next to our property is blooming so I think they will be OK this winter. They are pulling honey in all 8 frames in the third (top) brood box. Hopefully, we will get 1 or 2 or 3 more hives next spring :) . We just moved to 10 acres and will be getting alpacas and goats in September.

Welcome to the forum, Karstifer. You may want to see if you have a local bee club, they can be a big help also. If you have any questions, just give a post, someone will get you an answer. Good luck

Thanks folks - I appreciate your kind words. Joe D, I joined two local clubs and will probably stay with the one closest to our home. Thanks again
