I moved my garden but am still having the same problem as last year with my tomatillo plant. All the leaves have small holes. I heard that they outgrow this problem, but they didn't last year. Anyone have any ideas?

Holes from bugs? Can you get us a pic?
-
I've read assorted types of beetles will eat the leaves to these plants.
-
Pictures? Be careful what you ask for.
:-D
I'll try to get some tomorrow.
-
What is a Tomatillo and what are they good for?
-
Salsa Verde :-D Little green tomatoes in a husk. The husk forms then the fruit grows in the husk. Bees work them in the afternoon.

Chile Verde made with home grown tomatillos rocks. Hey rail- what is eating your tomatillos? That is what mine look like!!

Do you use sprinklers for irrigation?
Water droplets can made this holes on sunny days.

Nope. I'm currently watering this remote garden with a bucket (luckily, it's next to a pond).I haven't found anything on the underside of the leaves. In researching this, flea beetles seem to fit the description, except they aren't bothering my tomato or pepper plants. Same thing last year. Whatever it is, it only attacks the tomatillos.

Well, this mystery is no more. Flea beetles. Turns out they are on the other veggies, just not as much as the tomatillos.
Boiled up some water and dried thai chile pepper, sprayed it on the tomatillos (based on something I read). No idea if the flea beetles care but maybe the deer will.

Don't know abouth the flea beetles, but on the deer you beat up 1 egg, add it to 1 cup of cheap dish washing liquid and 1 gal. of water in a sprayer. Spray it on the brush around your gardern once a month and after a big rain will keep the deer out.
A truck farmer gave me this, it does work.
