Title: Hi, Sue from Colorado, teaching an elementary school bee class!
Post by: kinderbee on May 05, 2007, 08:58:23 pm
Hi,
I'm an elementary school teacher in the mountains of Colorado.  I'm just beginning to teach a honeybee and beekeeping class to students grades K-5.
Anyone else teaching about bees and beekeeping to 5-10 year olds.  I'd love to hear what you're doing.

Sue

Welcome and great to hear about the honeybee class. Wish they would have done something like that when I was a kid!
In this day when kids don't know that the food comes from a farm and not a store I like the idea of teaching some basics!
Have you checked out Beemasters other page?

If your interested and the parents are okay with it,there is a mini bee kids forum in the member and guest interaction section for our youthful members to participate. We are pretty diligent with moderating these boards to keep it family friendly as many of us have our own children who visit this sight!
Welcome again and i hope all goes well for you !
