Pollen dropped in hive

Today I noticed a lot of pollen the bees have dropped in the plastic beetle tray. Do Bees normally drop pollen in the hive when trying to store it

I see pollen under hives sometimes that have SBB's.

Short answer, yeah they drop it sometimes.
