What kind of tree is this?

I am new to the Kentucky area and I have some trees on my property edge that are blooming and the bees are all over it. Does anyone know what they are? I see bees returning back to the hive but they aren't carrying pollen so I assume they are getting nectar.

Most sumac here has small serrated edges on the leaves. But there is a smooth sumac.

It is a smooth sumac. We have them all over and the bees love them.

I'd say it's a sumac as well. From my understanding if a sumac's bloom is white then it's poison sumac, red is otherwise.

The blooms are white/cream/green, but the drupes [berries] are red.
[The old rhyme is 'Leaves of three, let it be. Berries white, take flight.]

Thanks Robin, I'll try to remember that one since I've started reading up on herbal remedies.

I've done a bunch of stuff with sumac. Here's a blog post about some of them.

My favorite thing is to soak the drupes in water for a few hours and then make lemonade out of it. So good!
