Tis the season
« on: February 22, 2012, 08:36:57 pm »
The snow is piling up fast, it has rained, snowed and we have had great booming thunder this afternoon and that is a great rarity here in the winter.  My bees are not dead, they are well fed, and I am enjoying the moisture and am thankful I can stay off the roads!

It's rather strange.  This weather down here is beginning to creep into the subconscious.  I was thinking it was something like 8pm when I pulled into the yard this evening (had been at rehab enter with MIL and kinda lost track of time).  It was dark.  But then I reminded myself that this was only the latter part of February and looked at the clock....only 6:30pm.  With the warmth and rains we've been getting...seems more like late spring and that the days should be longer...

Yep this weather has been warm one day and colder the next.  Rain one and then sun shine.  Things are a blooming.  Was talking to a member of the local bee club today, said already had a hive to swarm earlier this week.  got to get out there and add some boxes before mine try that.

Vance, down here it is a roller-coaster.  Hi 78F this afternoon.  Low tonight 58F then low tomorrow night 35F.  Highs dropping back into the 60's for the next few days and then back up into the 70's....rains interspersed throughout.

Best wishes to you,
Ed
