Welcome!  The GA fall state meeting is next weekend.  I don't know the whole program, but I know that Dewey Caron, Keith Delaplane, Mike Bush, my wife and my self will all be there presenting.  I can't imagine a better introduction to beekeeping.

If there is a bee club near you, you might consider visiting them. Many clubs now have mentoring programs and do group purchases of packages for less then you can get them sent (almost always cheaper to pick up your self though.)
