Springtime greetings from sunny Asheville. I'm excited to have joined this forum and to learn more. A friend and I have been involved with beekeeping for three years and just suffered a big loss of three hives over the winter. We tried installing three packages this spring, and only one has survived.

Welcome to the forum, Kirk. Sorry to hear of your bee loss. So far I have been lucky I guess. I got bees in 11 and so far I have robbing last fall and lost 1 and 1 hive just left this spring, I had already did first inspection this year before they left.
I was up to 6 back to 5. I do get to rambling. Good to have you here. Good luck to you and your bees.

Welcome to the forum, Kb. Hope your remaining colony is a boomer and you have to split multiple times this season! :) You might want to add your location in your profile for folks' future reference.
Best wishes,
