Hello from Middleburg, Florida
« on: August 26, 2016, 10:46:55 am »
Hello,

My name is David and i have been a beekeeper for the past four years.  I started out with 3 hives and have gone up and gone down with numbers over the years.  I have had as many as 12, but then had some just go away and/or get weak and wax moths take over.   I purchased three Nucs this spring to bring some new genetics into my bee yard.  I did manage about 32 gallons of honey this spring.  I currently have 6 hives and I am hoping to do some splits in a few weeks.  Went through my annual inspection and my bees seem to be doing really well with the queens still laying quite well.  I thought about letting them make their own queen, but I think I am just going to purchase three queens so I can go into the winter with 9 strong hives.

Hello David,
Welcome to Beemaster.
Sounds like you are doing pretty well. Jacksonville has a Bee club and I think there is a club in Clay county. I have asked a friend where it is and will let you know when I find out.
