Title: Moving a hive
Post by: homer on February 22, 2009, 09:21:49 pm
I am planning on relocating my have about 10 miles north of where it currently is.  My question is this.... Should I move it while the bees are still in their cluster and mostly dormant, or should I wait till there is more spring activity?  I'm sure I've still got a good 4-6 weeks before they are out foraging again.

If you drive carefully and slowly without hitting lots of bumps, if you have bumpy roads, they won't break cluster. If you don't need to move them now though I would wait and do it later on.
