queen played dead
« on: August 11, 2012, 04:49:59 pm »
I got a new queen that start laying 5days now.Today i tried to mark her, by grabbing her by the wings. But in the split second she stopped moving . I took her in the house and placed her on the paper in front of computer. The wired part is she was not moving but laying about 10 eggs before she start moving her legs and getting more active hour and half latter. Anybody can explain this? Toxic marker?

Queens fainting has been documented for many years.  Jay Smith's theory is you have some venom on your fingers... but I think many things could be the cause.
