Lotta mean bees there.    Did you have the smoker fired up?   So how far did they go back in there?

I did smoke them lightly, sorry I did not do a follow up video.  By the end of it I was beat and just wanted to go home. LOL
They went back about 4 feet.  I had to improvise with a broom handel and a paint scraper to get all the comb out.  I made it home with more than 6 pounds of bees.  They have been doing well since hiving them, I did find and kill their queen and had a much nicer one installed about a week post removal.  She is marked and I did see her a few days ago.

jaseemtp,........ WOW!!!!!

That is what I fear to run into one day.  One criteria my mentor and his counterpart has for a hive is gentleness.  Naturally, the bees that I've gotten from them are calm bees (well, one colony seems a little jittery, but...) and even the cutout from the dairy farm was very gentle.  I figure one day, though, I'll meet some bees like those in your video.  I'm glad you found the queen and de-throned her.  Best wishes on calming those bees down and thanks for sharing the video!!

What D Semple said about the better man, too...

I'm curious about something.  Do you also have gentle bees that you remove sometimes or are they all mean?  I know you're dealing with the influx of AHB genes down there but was wondering if there's still pockets of European genes.

Most of the ones I have encountered have been a bit testy.  I am unable to do a removal without a suit. I attempted that one time and after several stings to the face I promised the wife I wouldnt do it again.

My last removal attempt wound up being just as pissy.  They were in an old historic home in downtown Dallas.  I wound up doing it as a trap-out - as I was uncomfortable with cutting into the historic home.  The trap out is still going.... with 2 mediums sitting on the roof of their sun-room.  Built back in the early 1900's.

I took 80-90 stings to and through my suit & gloves just while sealing up the entrances to their home.

I run into ones like that on occasion...made me cringe just watching !

Thanks for the replies y'all. Most of the removals I have done this year have been pretty grumpy. Now since I posted the video y'all must have sent good vibes my way as the following 3 removals I could have performed nude. So thanks for the good vibes it sure was nice to get those gravey removals.
I also want to thank JP, Scott, and shawee for all y'all's videos it is what gave the courage and knowledge to even try to tackle a removal.
