Title: Gettin started

   Hi all,
     Got two hives last fall, and found and old extractor for 80 bucks.  I took the plunge after a long time wanting to do this.  My wife wasn't that thrilled, but after a swarm appeared on our mailbox it was a done deal for me.  The hives wintered well, and I am glad things are warming up on North Carolina's coastal plain.

Hello ! and welcome aboard. Sounds like you are on your way. If your other half is like mine she will come around when you show her that some of the hive byproduct can be marketed under her name ( like candles and honey) hint, hint. ;)

Wish a swarm would show up on my mailbox.  I have never seen a swarm.  I only hear about them two months after they were in someones tree.
