You're from Lousiana if you pronouce "NeuAurluns" as one word and drag it out.

You know you'r from Lousiana if you have to climb a hill (levee) to see the Mississippi River.

If the Levee breaks and leaves the roof of your house submerged 2 feet under water, you live in NeuAurluns.

Annette, when we went to New York City it took me awhile to get used to the way the people were!  They were so brusk in speaking & mannerisms.  I thought they were being mean at first. Watching & listening to them with each other it became clear that that it's just the way they were on the outside.  I met some of the nicest, most helpful people!  It was an amazing city, glad I don't live there but very nice to visit!  The Smithsonian, the art museums, hot dog carts, Central Park, that church abbey museum(I don't remember the name) was gorgeous, all the old bibles & robes, just the feel of the place is vibrant..but only in small doses!  J

You know you're from  Louisiana when...

At a crawfish boil, out of towners give you lessons on "How to peal a crawfish" and after they watch you peal 10 to their one they exclaim, "you must be from Louisiana!"

You put hot sauce on pbjs, at least I do!

If you throw out some names to a stranger in conversation, there's a 75% chance that you know someone they know or you find out you and the stranger or related somehow, cause its the crescent city, a big u-turn.

Snow, what is that again?

Hurricanes are evacuation vacations.

Every household has at least one fishing pole, crab traps and crawfish nets.

You never want to get the baby in a king cake and you know what that means.

Other people have accents, you talk normally, dawlin'

Who dat?

Swarm season starts in March, ends in late November.
