I think it was just one swarm that divided up onto two branches.  The first shake was pretty small. Oh, and do notice the D Coates 5 frame nuc.

I'm thinking two swarms, two queens but please let us know what the final verdict is.

Thanks!

BTW, great job!

Two weeks ago I caught something similar in my own yard. There were two swarms right next to each other like your case. There were two virgin queens. Swarmed from the same hive.

I was at the same location 12 days earlier and picked up a really nice swarm.  There is a bee tree across the street and the homeowner thought that they issued from that hive.  When I got the call from the same homeowner, I thought that these were just casts from the same hive with virgin queens.  However, the bees looked entirely different than the first group.  The bees from the first swarm were darker colored with Carniolan traits, this group looked much more like Italians so I think it's likely from a different hive.

Wish they were all that low and easy.
Should make you a good hive, or even two.

I also learned a few things after collecting this swarm.  I learned that you shouldn't leave your veil in the back of the pickup with the bees.  Or if you do, make sure you don't get home after dark.  Or if you do, shine a light on your veil to make sure there aren't any bees in there.  Otherwise you might get popped in the eye!

Crazyness.  I picked up the fourth swarm (if you count the video as two swarms) from the same house today.  I just started laughing when the same homeowner called.  This one was much smaller though.  I think it will be the last.  Got some nice pictures of the bee tree we think the swarms are issuing from.

Nice! There might be more coming but as you can tell as each swarm happens the amount of bees will be less and less.

I did a cutout in March, while I was setting up swarm happened. Found three queens outside. One inside. TWO MORE capped cells inside!
You never really know how many queen cells they made.
