Title: Newbie in Vancouver BC....sooo much to learn:)
Post by: WBVC on May 28, 2013, 02:14:14 pm
Greetings from Vancouver where it is currently pouring rain...this is our first season at bee keeping. My eldest daughter and her partner were interested in having bees. I was interested in the idea and also hope the bees will help qualify our property for farm status:)

Thus we have started 2 hives from packages, 3 from nucs and hope to start another 10 hive from nucs....it seems a huge project!!

Our goal is to harvest honey and perhaps over time split hives ourselves....plus we really hope we can get enough advice to be able to keep our bees from swarming and have them do well over the winter:)

Welcome to the forum, WBVC.  There is a lot of info here, threads and videos.  You may also want to check into a local bee club, you may get a mentor there.  Good luck to you and your bees.
