HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU ARE OLD

Came to me in an email

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU ARE OLD

 You gotta like this one.
George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed, when his
wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she
could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go
turn off the light, but saw that
there were people in the shed stealing
things.
He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" He said
"No." Then they said "All patrols were busy. You should lock your doors
and an officer will be along when one is available."  George said,
"Okay"..  He hung up the phone and counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people
stealing things from my shed.  Well, you don't have to worry about them
now
because I just shot them" and hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a
 SWAT Team, a Helicopter,

   two
Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips'
residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you shot
them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was

   nobody available!"
(a True Story)
(Maybe it is or isn't. Being creative when calling for help might be a plan,)

When my house was broken into two years ago in January, it took them until March to get a detective sent out to my house to check on things.....they had told me that there was no one available also....and that the next available deputy would be right there....and to stay in the house! Heck! I would have starved to death if I had listened to them.

It took me several calls to get someone to take a report....the detective then wanted a list of what was stolen, as he could not 'see anything' had been broken into or was missing! I then found out that I had to either take a polygraph or hand them over the origional receipts for what I had reported missing! Yeah, right!

Sadly, this is also a true story! Here, I found out that it is better to call a 'cat' than it is to call the sheriff's department! Hey, at least the cats show up and they have been known to bite a few people.
