Title: Scouts all over dead outs on back porch.
Post by: bailey on March 22, 2013, 08:07:03 pm
Have a stack of dead outs on the back porch waiting to be cleaned up.
Scouts have been on them for a week but today there were more than ever.
Will be fun if I get to see them come in!

Hey Dad, You say you have a regular job too? I don't know how you find the time my friend. You have me tired just thinking about the hours you must put in on any given week...

Plan b.
was thinking the same thing today. Had ideas on pulling honey out of hives today but when I got home I decided to just stay in.
Have about 75 lbs sold already. Just have to go get it and was just too tired to do it today.
Delivered honey to a distributor and went home.
Sitting here eating fried shrimp and soft shell crab as a reward for the past 3 weeks work.

Good luck. Hope you get them.
My father in law's neighbor had a swarm take off and land in the top of a 70 ft Toby tree and they ask my father in law how to get them. He just laughed. They watched that swarm for 2 days. Late on the second day it took off and headed for his garage. They moved into empty hive supers that had a few frames in them.  He just added a top and bottom and gave the swarm back to his neighbor.

CD,
I broke down and dipped in my honey money jar and bought some supplies to make four D Coates ply nucs and almost finished painting them for hang up tomorrow. Only problem I had was finding that $10 sheet plywood. It was discontinued on the 2010 isle.
Thought I was gonna make that trip to pick up nucs today but guess they not ready yet?

All I could find this year were $15 sheets of 1/2 inch ply.

You ordered 4 right? I have at least 2 that could go but the weather sucks today.
Might be able to do something tomorrow but it will depend on weather and time.
I HAVE to pull honey tomorrow.

Now if you want to come help pull honey and get 2 nucs that might work weather dependent.
