Cutout from Yucca Tree Roots - July 21 and 22, 2010

Did another cutout with my dad which we started on Wed late afternoon and completed today. a colony has been living in the Yucca tree for some time now. Thought they lived in the trunk but some of the bigger older roots were rotten away and the bees lived in there. Where they lived went down about 3.5 feet!!! We had to reach deep to remove all the combs. Didn't have any dirty to fill the hole today though I found out later that the owners did have a pile of dirt on the other end of the lot. Oh well...

It involved a lot of cutting with a chainsaw! Then it was just collect the bees with very little hope in finding the queen or saving brood.

Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Not sure why I like to do cutouts, it's hard work. Maybe it's all those videos and posts by JP, Hardwood, and Iddee. I can't believe they go suitless (or clothless in iddee's case)!
