We were lucky enough to be invited to a sniper training event on base by our E.O.D. friends. Long range .308 practice is a blast!

Oh that looks like just too much fun. 1200 yards or what was that target set up on for the 50?
-
The longest shots were 900yds. Most were 100-600yds.
I thought it a bit odd that the instructors (Federal Agents) used yards instead of meters, but that's how all of their range foumulas (windage, spin drift etc) were set up.

Did you have to pay to shoot or buy the ammo or what? I would like to hear of something like that up here.

This was all free for us...just had to fork out $100 for gas to get there and back. The only reason we were able to attend is that our friends with the E.O.D. were running the show.

I went to Blackwater in NC for a week long training gig. At the time they were having an Advanced Sniper School where they were strapped on the skids of a Littlebird Helo . Impressed the heck out of me them making shots with the Barretts out of a not so stable, in flight platform.
