Yes, since bees are engineered to live off of honey during winter it makes sense to me that they should be eating honey during winter. So I agree.
This year was troublesome in that not only did the girls not make honey for me but not enough for themselves. So we're entering winter without sufficient reserves. Oh joy! I was able to top off one hive, with syrup, but the other hive can't seem to get with the program.
Question, Is 2 deeps worth of honey enough to go in & through winter without direct feeding?
