Title: Christine's first swarm.
Post by: prestonpaul on October 21, 2012, 07:23:53 pm
Super proud of my wife Chrisitne at the moment, and a bit jealous as well.
She caught her first swarm last week. It landed on a shrub in our front garden but unfortunately I was 3 hours away at our farm doing some work on the tractor. So calm as you like, she got a nuc out of the garage, filled it with stickies, went out and shook the swarm in to it!
The nuc is now in our back yard and will be taken out to the farm on the weekend. The bees seem to have settled in well and have shown no indication of leaving.
So all in all, very proud. The jealous part comes in because I haven't had the chance to catch a swarm yet! :-D
