This video showcases the removal.
The other one I just couldn't resist "Dave's" rants about being the sixth person in the universe to be allergic to pollen. :lau:
I removed as much comb as I could from the exterior but in the end had to open the floor to get the rest out.
I honestly believed we failed to get the queen and that she and some of the other bees had gone all the way to the other side of the trailer.
I wasn't about to take the entire trailer apart searching for her, so last night I sent Schawee home with the bees and a strong, gentle colony in a medium nuc.
These were the bees I removed from the Crape Myrtle tree at the Ramada Inn.
Anyway, I was astonished when Schawee called today saying the queen from the removal at the fire training facility was in the box!
I really, really thought we had left her behind.
He said she has a golden abdomen with black tip and is a pretty large queen.
I'm very happy as these are good bees and as the video shows, nice and gentle.
Oh, and there's a lot less profanity in this video.
Thanks for watching.
