Horrorcane 2012 Sandy

And so it begins..............

Nothing too bad yet. Max gust @ apiary 43mph. Lot of rain in bands no gauge but gotta be 2-3" so far. Not a single B fly'in, usually there will be a few @ feeders even in the rain, they know its coming. Got them fortified as best I can and fingers crossed. Got tarps, wood, lights, ready for emergency repair. Looking to me like she's going to go CAT 2 before landfall. Expecting worst of it to hit me around 9pm and last through the night. Gonna be a long one. Did this in Key West once and it was not fun. @ least no worries about drowning this time.  :)Good Luck all.

Cheers,
Drew

I'm praying for all of you in the path! There are benefits from hurricanes though.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Turned out to be a lot of fuss for nothing, @ least in my immediate area. Biggest limb down for me was 3". Missed my car by "'s. Few friends around still dark though. Actually not a bad day out, chilly but I've started my storm cleanup, it is a mess.
