so...
hive#1 robbed hive #7, that was about a month ago. hive #7 was actually a nuc still on sheaky ground so it got killed of in the procedure, hive #1 got really weak.
a week ago, a beek brought 120 hives (on two trucks) for overwintering (i think), and when i went to check them out i saw they were robbing each other and a lot of hairless bees. do i have to explain what i saw in my apiary the next day? i probably do, only hive #1 was being robbed. i have heard that robbed honey has special odor that bees can smell (yeah, now i'm being a real smartass). the next day i put a robber screen onto it, and it helped---too late. today i opened it up only to found maybe 5 living bees and half empty comb.
so..to salvage the comb, i put it in my other hive (#3)-so it would be cleaned of wax moth and stuff(brood). went back after an hour, whuusssss, cloud of bees (yep, this was the momment it occured to me-ODOUR!!!!).
so...there's little i can do today, i'll put the robber screen in the evening and hope they survive, also i removed that comb imidiately. hope it helped.
for future reference:
DO NOT MIX COMB FROM ROBBED HIVES!!!
