Welcome Alysia:
We use to have a teen forum ( took it out for temporary space needs) - not many teens were active in it and most of them have moved on (including 2 moderators) but if we have a need or desire to restart one (I saw Summerbee has rotated at 25,200 miles per second around the Milky-way as well as 16 full solar rotations That's a heck of a lot of miles. Not to forget we rotate at 1500 miles per hour on our axis, imagine all that at $3.00 a gallon gas.
I'm enjoy Space related stuff and follow the Space Station Missions on NASA-TV all the time - to those who do not know, there is a huge Space Station in orbit well over 5 years, always manned and it usually re-manned every 6 months or so - minimum astronauts two, recently 5, but always up there and moving at approx 25,000 mph around the globe a remarkable EVERY 90 minutes.
They are to pass nearly directly over my area (a full 11 minutes of viewing time without any magnification (although binoculars are very good - telescopes are impractical unless you have very expensive tracking telescopes) on May 27th at 7:58pm est - current orbit at approx 192 miles altitude above the Earth (it varies approx. 20 miles from 180 to 200 during different missions, etc.
But anyways - you didn't mentions the solar stuff - lol. I just wanted to welcome you and I hope you get everything out of the hobby (especially with siblings) that you wish - beekeeping is a great family hobby.
This is a fun and educational forum - I hope you check the many topics and please post in as many as you'd like. We pretty much talk about everything under the sun in the Non-Beeping sections, so if you have other interests or hobbies, please share with us!!! Welcome again.
