doesn't that seem a little odd?  if they were AFB wouldn't they have done more damage to the colt?  if they were not, she shouldn't have gotten more than a couple of stings.

maybe she had lots of room to run away......

EHB can be just as mean AHB depending on the circumstances. It is just that EHB are less likely to be overtly aggressive. Also AHB don't tend to be highly aggressive until theyhave a nest to defend. Swarms of AHB behave like EHB and AHB swarms tend to be smaller.

The worst attack I ever received was EHB when I dropped the hive.
