Title: Newish Beekeeper
Post by: Wax Moth on June 17, 2008, 06:03:40 pm

Started beekeeping last Summer with a swarm and a polyhive.  Was very sad when they all died.  Sent them away to be tested and they had been poisoned.  Bought a nuc of Italians late Summer that has successfully overwintered.  Now have 2 hives.  They are, however, mean girls.  This is the second Summer when it hasn't been safe to use the garden, not even to hang out washing. Local beekeeper had a look this week and got me to move a water source nearer to them. No stings since.  Hope to get some good advice here.

Waxmoth.  Welcome to our forum, we love to have new members.  I am sorry to hear of the loss of your bees from that poisoning, that is a bummer.  So nice though, that you haven't given up hope, and that you are continuing on.  You will have tales to tell, we are all listening and love to hear stories.  So tell us some that come to your mind, when you have the time.  This is the most wonderful place to learn, listen, make new friends, that be us.  Have a wonderful and most beautiful day, Cindi
