heres a question, when we say 1:1 ratio for syrup , does it mean 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water or is it weight to volume, 1 cup of sugar is quite a bit less then 1 cup of water. I found when i put sugar in the bowl first, then added enough water to bring it back up to the same level it worked out to 12 cups of sugar to 5.5 cups of water. Does that sound about right? We are feeding a brand new package of bees.
