What size is the entrance? How is the bee population of the hive in question?
-
the enterance is on the winter side and the population is pretty good the hive was started in April

i have seen alot of wasps the last while but the girls seem to look after them pretty good.just make sure you dont have any food sources like feeders. seem to bring them in. just my observation

I am going to add your pics, but you need an entrance reducer on if your getting more than the bees can handle. I am assuming by winter side, you have the bottom board flipped with the narrow opening next to the box?

I am with Ken. From the pics, it looks like the bees are addressing the intruders. You probably just need a smaller area for them to have to defend.

I would agree with the other post, the entrance needs to be reduced down to around 1" to 3/4". I would also add a robbing screen for a day or two.
