Having hard time with photos
« on: May 20, 2009, 12:09:07 am »
I am having a problem about posting pictures I read a post on here that is talking about being new and for security reasons that I couldn't post pictures until a certain amount of post.  I also read if I sent my post to a administrator with picture that they could help me.  I really don't understand so if I could get some  help on this I would appreciate this.

                                                                           Thanks

New members are not permitted to automatically post pictures.   As a new member, create the post to the forum, minus the pictures.  Then send a link to the post and links to the pictures to photos@beemaster.com  and an admin will add the photo links to your post.

Do not send the pictures, just links to the pictures.  Beemaster.com does not host images, you must host them elsewhere, like ImageShack.

Once you have gone through a trial period, you will then be able to link your own pictures.

So how long is this "trial period"?  Is it measured in time or number of posts?

You'll just have to hang around a bit. We do not advertise criteria for posting links and photos to deter all would be spammers. It is not all that long really, and participation helps.
If you had an arbitrary number, the spammers would flood this place.  Be patient.
Apis,I'm sure your beyond that point.

I guess I need to add emotecons and irrelevant comments to all the posts I can so I “participate” enough to participate.

Regarding Spammers…

A man was sitting on a train in Vermont tearing up strips of newspaper and throwing them out the window.  When someone asked him why, he said “it’s to keep out the elephants”.  After being informed that there are no elephants in Vermont, the man replied…  “See, it works!”

We've had our share of unsavory posters in the past. it's easier to make it difficult for them than to make apologies for some of the stuff that gets through. We have had to deal with porn spammers and such.We would rather inconvenience a couple than subject all the members to what a few manged to get through.
So there are "elephants" out there. Most can live by our way of dealing with this. Some can not,so have left because it didn't seem fair to have to wait.
We choose to stay spam free and this method is a big help.
