uncapping planner
« on: July 10, 2009, 08:48:04 am »
Has anyone ever tried the maxant uncapping planner. Wondering if you like it better than a hot knife? I am going to purchase one or the other, which one would get?

Thanks Leechmann

Yes I have used one and liked it.  I felt it was much easier on the wrists when uncapping.  It is quite a bit heavier than a standard electric uncapping knife so you must get used to that but once I got onto it I loved!

I am interested in experiences with these planers as well.

I have a bad wrist and its tough for me to handle knife work (or at least that's what I say while I stand around and watch gguidester or my wife doing all the knife work ).

I own one now for a few weeks and like it. It takes a little getting use to but gets the job done quickly.
