Maxant 3100H & Dadant M00400 Ranger Extractors
« on: January 03, 2013, 11:30:49 am »
I have a few questions about the two extractors above. If anyone could provide hands on answers that would be great.

Maxant:
I see quite a few posts from people talking about buying this extractor and then converting it to electric. If you have this extractor are you pleased to use it as a hand extractor? Do you wish it had a horizontal crank instead of a vertical crank? How durable is the brass or bronze bushing in the larger sheave (hand wheel sheave)?

Dadant:
If you have this extractor are you pleased with the durability of the nylon gears?

I want to purchase an extractor and I have most all my other questions answered. I would just like some firsthand opinions on the above items.

Thanks,
Jeff

Have a friend that has the powered  max 20 frame. If you have a bunch of hive it is the way to go. His first years had one from brushy hand crank one and replaced it for the max
