Title: SPANISH NEVADA
Post by: abejaruco on March 09, 2008, 11:56:13 am
Well, at last we have a snowfall ("nevada" in Spanish) here in southern Spain.
You can see (using a miscroscope) the storks on the snow.

Uops! Oh la la... :-D  The snowflakes are transformed...in margaritas.

My son "mariposing" (butterflying) among the flowers.

The clearest green
pino (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Pine)
The darnest green is similar to the olive, but it´s a wild variety that I can´t find in the web.
olive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive)

The bushes are lentiscus (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charneca)

And the Retama monoesperma boiss in white bloom.

Weed, weed, not would be a right word. ;) I want to think that the purpose is to enjoy the sight. It´s a floodable land. I don´t know the name. Aquatic daisy suppose.

Storks go away during the autumn. Come back in january. Where are they going to be better than in Spain?

that's pretty.  i have to put Spain on my list of places to go.  as long as there are some old things for me to crawl around in, and some good drinks for my husband, we do ok.  he says that once you have seen one old roman ruin, you have seen them all.....  :'(
we were thinking of doing the ruins in Mexico next.

you sure live in a beautiful area!!

Spain is very complex to visit. I cant tell you to choose among the exceptional Barcelona or the authentic Madrid with museos with Goya or Velazquez, or the Celt North or the Andalusian South. Santiago, Cuenca, Córdoba or Granada...or Macotera  ;), near of the old Salamanca. Every one with different taste.

But I can tell you that if you come to Cadiz or Sevilla with your husband I would like to invite you to Spanish ham and good wine. :) ... AND ORANGES.

we might need to take more than one trip!

once again, our trips are put on hold.  he is going back to Thailand in May.  if we ever do get to travel again and we get to your part of Spain, we'd take you up on the offer!  my husband would be a very happy man in front of wine and ham!

Abejaruco,

Thank you for including Macotera in your Spain travel itinerary!  But I don't think the avergae traveler would like it, unless they had family there

I was telling my sister about you, so the next time she goes to Espana, I am going with her and we will call you.  Even though I do not eat meat, I would take some jamon y vino with you, y narangjas tambien~*~

P.S. my sister joined beemaster just to see these photos!

Hi DayValleyDahlias, I will have jamón ibérico (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam%C3%B3n) for you too. Ja, ja. ;) The best ham is the ham that is eaten with the friends.

I have promised to my wife a gastronomy travel from Madrid to the Northwest marisco (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marisco) coast.

I have to eat any of these (http://www.elporticoreal.com/Restaurante/Cochinillo.html)

If I don´t explode, I´ll pass a night in Macotera. Little villages have nice little things.
