Title: card board trap for SHB
Post by: Keith13 on May 19, 2008, 06:18:03 pm
the method where you use cardboard to with boric acid.

let me see if i have this correct. take a 4x4 section of cardboard rip off one side exposing the ripples. pour in boric acid until it almost comes to the edge. once this is done add tape gorilla or duct to prevent the bees from getting into the BA once it is taped back up lay it ontop of the frames.
Is this correct?

The plastic corrugated signs work well. Cut a few slits in the bottom and fill w/ the boric acid. Then seal the end up w/ Crisco etc to keep it from leaking out. Staple it to the bottom board. The SHB will eat through the Crisco.

I ask about placing it on top of frames and I was told not too. Not sure why? I was told you can place it on top of an inner cover. Maybe others have placed it on top of the frames?
