I was inspecting one of my beehives today when the sky started filling up with bees. I thought it might be robbing so i closed up the hive but come to my suprise, it was a small swarm with a big queen. I have to say this was the first time a swarm landed on my beehive while i was inspecting it. Really neat! It seems like we are having alot of late swarms in louisiana this year.

Sweet.

Did the swarm move into the hive you were inspecting?

It looks like they were trying to get in through a crack in the cover but once i caught the queen and put her in the empty nuc box on top, they all followed her in.

Pretty cool.

its not uncommon to get swarms until november here. (your only 20 min from me)
just make sure to feed them or give them some frames of honey.
