Good to have another beekeeper join the forum.
Getting everything ready now is a good idea but the thing that is going to help the most is find a mentor or association that is near you and join. Getting help from reading is nice but better to get some hands on to learn from.
Good luck with your venture into beekeeping.

Mick, welcome to our forum, great that you have found us.  We can be your helper to learn about beekeeping, as will the books that you have and will read.  There is much to learn, but it is oh so much fun doing that thing.  You are getting ready for the day when the bees will be yours to look after.  Their world is something to behold, intrigue -- no other better word for it.  The more you get to know them and their secret lives, the more that you will want to know.  This will be a place where you will love to spend time, this you will see.  It is a place where you will have a place to tell your stories, tales and experiences, we all love to listen.  Yes, as John said, some of us are rather weird, you will find that out, hee, hee, but any weirdness is all in that bit of fun, we are a fun bunch of people, enjoying each other's company and lovin' and livin' life. Stick around, you will make some good friends here.  Have a wonderful and awesome day, great health.  Cindi

I think I mentioned this quite awhile back...But have you ever noticed, when you go to the bee club, the people kinda LOOK LIKE BEES? After awhile though you dont notice it as much as when you first walked in the door at your first bee meeting!
