Welcome to the forum, T.J.  I'm down south of Montgomery.  Glad to hear you're getting *back* into bees.  We all wished we had listened to our fathers/grandfathers more...and on a lot of issues.  I bet as you work with the bees there will be things that come back to you that you had forgotten all about...

Best wishes,
Ed

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".

The biggest changes I would think are varroa mites and small hive beetles and how they affect honey bee management today.  Study up well on them. ;)

Best wishes,
