There is no way Meyer is going to dominate the Wolverines like Tressel did!
That may be a good thing. The rivalry wasn't fun when UM dominated OSU during the Cooper years, and while it was nice beating Michigan regularly under Tressel, the Game is far more fun and interesting when both teams are good. It's more fun beating Michigan when you're denying them a Rose Bowl berth than it is beating up on Wolverine team with a losing record.

Well, its official, Urban Meyer is bringing the Tim Tebow show to Columbus!

Are we forgetting the last time TT and Urban ran into a Big 10 team?  The 2008 Capital One Bowl.

Sundog, that glorious day had faded from my memory.  Thanks for bringing it back!

My memory was a little sharper on how ole’ Urban Meyer lobbied hard to keep Michigan out of the national championship game in 2006.  I doubt the Wolverines are going to forget that anytime soon!  There will be a little extra motivation for beating OSU with Meyer at the helm.

I wonder if he’ll implement another spread system even after seeing how stupendously Rich Rods spread failed in the Big 10?

And elsewhere.   Finally make it to  a lesser bowl, and then...   Even the Bump Eliot teams never got embarrassed like the Miss SU game last year.

Anyone else hear that Mizzu Tigers are moving to SEC next year? They better tighten up if its true.

Heck of a start to the Big 10 Championship on Sat.  Great game between the Badgers and Spartans.  Back and forth right to the end, the way two evenly matched teams should play out.  I’m pretty sure the Badgers are going to be feasting on roasted Duck come New Years.

I too, would love to see it, but the Rose Bowl is always a difficult road trip for B1G teams.  The Badgers flopped last year against TCU, and the Ducks have a great deal of team speed, especially on offense.  I think Oregon will give Wisconsin trouble.  Let's hope for a well-played game.

Should be fun!

It sounds like Urban Meyer is bound and determined to implement a spread offense in Columbus.  Just hired a spread guy for his offensive coordinator:  http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-ohiost-qbscoach

Did he not watch any replays of Rich Rods Wolverines?

Rich managed to get the offense working at UM, but entirely forgot about a thing called "defense".

I would respectfully differ.  All RR did was prove that a one dimensional team will never succeed.  He surprised the opposition in the beginning, due only to Denard’s abilities, but other teams quickly adjusted.  No defense, no kicking game, no special teams, and no coaching adjustments.  In short, terrible coaching.

Coaches at that level are also Professors and Mentors.  All he ever taught was whining and blaming others.  He is all about me, me, me, as his crying diatribes demonstrated.  The kids on the team deserved much better, as do the kids in AZ.  Brandon and Coleman sure messed-up on that hiring!  Only cost four million or so and the worst seasons and records in Michigan history.  Now he is shooting his mouth of bragging that HE would have won more than ten games.

The man has no ability, character, integrity, or dignity, and yet he is paid millions.  Not sure what that says about the society we live in.  I need to speak with Kim Kardashian.

I wasn't trying to defend RR and his coaching abiltity as much as reply to BlueBee's comment on whether a spread offense would work in the BigTen. A spread offense will work, but as you pointed out, it needs to be accompanied by a complete team.

Case in point, when Joe Tiller arrived at Purdue, they had only had 2 winning seasons in the last 20, but he took them to 10 bowls in 12 years with a spread offense. No, Purdue didn't reach the "elite" status of regular conference championships and BCS bowls, but they went from being a bottom feeder to a consistent winner. Given the talent available at Ohio State, I don't doubt that the spread offense could work very effectively.

Don’t know about the rest of you, but the Michigan win over Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl was the most undeserved Michigan win I have ever seen.  VT clearly was the better team and should have won that game by about 50 to nothing.   Tech got robbed.

The Wolverines defense and kicker played a good game, but the offense was horrendous.  Absolutely horrendous.  Our AD needs to have a serious talk with Brady Hoke after that embarrassment.  What do you call it when you run up the middle for 1 yard on 1st down EVERY TIME and expect a different result?  It was like watching a re-run of Bo losing Rose Bowl after Rose Bowl by running up the middle every down.  When will they learn?

Maybe I’m the only Wolverine to think this way, but I hope Denard goes in the NFL draft.  I would rather see him battling Tebow next year.

While Michigan didn’t deserve to win, Michigan State did do us proud.  I thought they played a good game against Georgia and deserved to win in the end.  That was an exciting game with 3OTs.

What do our Wolverines fans think of Rich Rodriguez’s gift that keeps on giving to the former champions of the west?  I’m talking about Denard Robinson.  His performance against Notre Dame last night was simply dismal.  We all have our bad days, but after 5 years at UofM learning a profession, I expect more proficiency.

Denard seems like a great kid, but if you’re turning the ball over 5 times, it’s time to warm the bench and start grooming the next kid for the future.  UofM is really in a pickle with Denard.  They would take a whole lot of media criticism if they pull him out, but after 5 years of seeing the same mistakes over and over, we’re going to keep on loosing if we completely rely on him.

No argument with your comments here, just observations.  The Wolves should have won that game in spite of not having a running game.  Twenty-one played well enough, one did not.

I'll be glad too, when the last ghosts of TWCIMFH are gone.

Still having fun!

I thought the (Wolver)Weenies generally played fairly well.  D only gave up 13, mostly good patience on offense.  You wonder why Bo didn't throw so much?  Even when DR's passes weren't picked off they were always on the wrong side of the receiver, like when Gardener was wide open and he had to spin around to try and catch it, on two occasions.

I always tell people my second favorite team is ANYBODY playing Notre Dame, and now after UM beat themselves, all the Talking Heads are yakking about ND's return to "national relevance".  No doubt every team will give them 6 turnovers.

I feel for the kids at AU.  Having witnessed RR's debacle at UM, I'm sure he expected one kid to put up 50 points against Oregon while the rest of the team was ill prepared.  I didn't watch it, I have seen all I care to of RR.  Afterwards he no doubt blamed the kids while whining some CW song about how good HE is.

Such fun!

Is Urban Meyer creating a monster down there in Columbus?  This doesn’t look good for our bumbling Wolverines. :(  I’m getting real tired of getting beat this century by the Buckeyes.

So let me see if I’ve got this strait?

Notre Dame and Ohio State are the only unbeaten teams in the land.  Notre Dame is ranked #1, so logically the Buckeyes are really the 2nd best team.

So next weekend when the rejuvenated Wolverines beat the Buckeyes in Columbus, that makes us number 2, right?  That’s what I figured. :)

Still having problems getting things straight, eh?  :-D

"Logically" the three leading polls have ALABAMA as #2.  I do see that the AP Poll has Ohio State listed in 4th place...USA Today and the BCS are not listing them.  Tressell or whatever his name was hurt the Buckeye's badly...I just wonder how far the tendrils of his questionable ethics went into the Ohio sports department.  Meyers is a good coach and a good man, he will do the program a lot of good.

Still delusional, eh?

Well, it's Saturday night and THE game is over  :(.  Both sides played a good hard game.

I hate to say it, but the Buckeyes have proved that they are the NUMBER 1 team in college football this year, despite the phoney BCS.
