JP, I would love to comment on this video but I cannot view it on my IPad nor IPhone. I can view lots of videos but not this one. I there a setting that restricts it that is set when you post it?
Don't miss out on the cut out tools. John some really nice ones.

JP,
Great video and removal, I really enjoyed watching it!  I must admit, you made me just a little nervous when you first caged the queen and set her on the floor ...I was thinking, "Oh no! I sure hope he doesn't forget she's there and accidentally step on her!"

Do you think Tiffany's dad did any damage to the gals in his attempt to get rid of them?  They sure looked quite healthy...

Great video!  Did you actually cut the floor or were you working with seams that were already there?

D,
I was wondering the same thing, I think he said he cut it, but I was thinking along the same lines as you...why not just pull the whole sheet.  The other thing that had me wondering was, Does he every run across jobs where the carpenter was thorough enough to use liquid nails or some other adhesive in addition to nailing down the plywood?  I imagine that would increase the hassle factor of the job significantly.  :)

Awesome video JP. I cant even find the queen in a small colony with bees only covering a few frames and you flip over a piece of plywood and have her in 5 seconds...  :? lol  keep em coming

JP,

I hate the honey mess from broken comb when you have to pull up a floor or turn over roof sheathing.

Is there anything a guy can do to minimize all the spilled honey?

Great video. Thanks for not suiting up, appreciate seeing somebody else getting stung!

by the way I seen the queen first at 1:51 regards schawee  :-D

Wow!! I don't know what to day about this video. It has it all. Finding that queen in the beginning was very exciting and made me laugh and laugh (as usual). I loved the slow motion parts and the fast parts as well. Just a lot of fun to watch and made me very happy.

I really like when you involve the homeowners and this women seemed to have a lot of fun.

Only have a quick second but here goes.

I did cut the floor section as I often do. Pulling an entire sheet out is a pain in most cases. I use a multi-tool for my cuts, didn't want to bore y'all with that process.

Moots, I did one about a week ago where the plywood was glued and nailed down which is a rarity down my way and a real PITA!!!

About spilled honey, not much you can do about it sometimes other than try and make clean cuts and if you have the time, allow the bees do do some clean up.

Gotta run, see y'all soon!

Please bore me!;)  I asked as I've never had to remove floor board before and I want to know how to do it when presented with that challenge.

Don, first off seams are good! I try to utilize them as often as possible! I take the tack strip up and cut about 3/4 of an inch from the wall, sometimes the baseboard has to come up. If the set up is favorable you may need to make just one cut but sometimes 2 or 3 is needed to pull your section up. You pull your nails from your joists with a cat's claw and then make your cuts on your joists. Its that simple! Then you pry each side up to loosen the section and pick it up from one side or the other. If you pry it towards the wall, you tend to smoosh some combs and po the bees. A little smoke before lifting can go a long way!

John, I did see your post, I was just ignoring you.

Mike, not sure if that bee actually stung me cause right after it zoomed in I'm placing one in the vac, perhaps it was that one. Just not sure but I thought people would get off on it either way. You know Bud and Schawee had a good snicker over it!  :-D

John, if you want to that's cool, was just kidding with you a bit there.  ;)
