Thought I'd start this topic, we are living in the APPS Era where (if you look enough) you will find something that does exactly or very near to what you want and often for free.
But First BEEs CLOCK - kinda cute, honeybees forum the hours and minutes of this digital style clock. As each minute goes by, honeys move around, or fly on and off the comb background to reform the updated time. It also has a Bzzzzzzzzzzzing wake-up clock setting and shows time in 12/24 modes. The bees even move about as they forum the time by stretching their wings and such. Again it is called Bees Clock.http://itunes.apple.com/kz/app/bees-clock/id480136255?mt=8It this topic, I'm asking everyone to SHARE YOUR FAVORITE APPS (please add the device it is for and actual download name and price) and please tell us why and how you use it. Adding a REVIEW "STAR COUNT" would be great too.
I'm trying to build a data base of outstanding Apps that we all might find interesting and useful. I'll list a few I really love and why below. Mind you. any beekeeping apps (I'll demo one below) matter of fact, we have the technology - be brave and do a video review for us from time to time.
MY FIRST LIST OF APPS:
Product: IPOD TOUCH Gen4 - 64Gig model
-------------------------------
SCRABBLE - SKYWORDS: Most used apps for me are Word Game Apps - I have never played Words with Friends but I do play the official Scrabble and Skywords (the app version of Up-words) which is like Scrabble but you build tiles up to 5 high as well as interlaced. Both these games have free versions and upgrading for under $3 each allows unlimited consecutive games.
You play either alone or a seemingly endless pool of online players with full text chat ability - for word game buffs, these are precious on your smart device.

Appsfire is my second most used app. It scours the App Store several times a day looking for apps that have gone FREE or greatly deduced in price often for only that day or a really short time.
I use Appsfire 3 or more times a day, downloading anything free that sounds interesting. I'll use the downloaded apps and if I like them, I categorize them in the right folders, if not I delete them. Thanks to Appsfire, I have over 300 apps in my Ipod and I have total spent less than $30 for all those great apps. To aid your search, they categorize apps in the following genres; Best of now FREE, Games, Entertainment, Utilities, Productivity, Photos & Videos,
Educations, Reference, News,Music, Medical, Business, Lifestyle, Social Networking - they've added; Weather, Travel, Sports, Navigation, Health & Fitness, Finance, Books. As you can see, they have organized hundreds of apps every day into precise categories for easy searching. Just click on the icon for full descriptions, images and often Youtube Videos showing what the App is about.
--------------------------------
TAPATALK - this gem (which has been written about often here in the forum) allows you to load over 300 thousand forums (including ours) into an easy to see and navigate format. No more zooming pages to look bigger or scrolling to read posts - Tapatalk gives you posts in a clean looking, easy to read and reply layout that offers many options for adding images using their own uploaders. A really nice SEARCH FEATURE on the main screen allows you to search for forums on any other topics you may be interested in - say Harley's or cats or hunting or treasure hunting. Search and find topics that interest you and expand your forum activity into all your favorite hobbies.
-------------------------------
Skype and Venrilode are both great ways to keep in touch, as is Facetime, but Ventrilode best serves forum members communicating and Skype of course keeps you in touch with everyone.
VIP POKER - okay, I've always loved Texas-Holdem but finding an app that was both visually stunning, multi-user and friend invite based were important to me, VIP Poker does that all. You are given 25 thousand play dollars to go into any of there many rooms and play with at either 5 people or 9 people tables. The feel is of real poker as you play and converse with people around the globe. They make their money in people going broke and wanting new chips. They have a list of how many chips cost how much, but every few weeks they have a 60% off sale in chip price. Honestly I always keep above $100K and have never gone broke, so I have not bought chips yet, but each day, they send you $1000 in free chips to keep you playing even if you lost all your chips the day before. This is well thought out, and thrilling if you are a Holdem player.

Tunein Radio is likely the best multi-stationed radio players in Apps. You have the choice of thousands of feeds in a massive list of styles and a full record feature for later play back. For example, I have my Tunein set to record Michael Savage talkshow host at 1am my time, the station is in Alaska and I record 4 hours each night, to listen to later at work, etc..
Although any music style is represented here, I like this most for the talk shows, podcasts and even police radio stations from all over the Earth. It is a simple player with many features.
--------------------------------------
PILLBOXIE - if you are like me, you find yourself with a new med every year and it gets impossible to manage after awhile. No more problems with Pillboxie, a fun to set up App where you create the look of each medicine by choosing different shapes until you find one that looks like you med, then you just drag it along what looks like a plastic weekly pill organizer and drop the med in the correct hourly box. When a med is due, your device will CHIME and display on the screen (including lock screen) which med or meds are due. VERY handy and it's like having your own nurse walking in with a small cup of water and your pills.

Just to finish, I'll add by name a few more that I use constantly, the names should be familiar - like TV GUIDE which allows you to add your local provider info and it will show all programming on up to weeks in advance, plus check which ones you want notices on which are your favorite and "new" episodes - very powerful app.

MORE from the Beemaster Collection
IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) - TED - Youtube - Pandora - What's On Air - Coast to Coast AM (subscription only) - Alex Jones (podcasts database) Flixter (movie review) - Fox Shows - CBS news - CNN - FOX News - CNBC RT - POTUS - a collection of all US Presidents reference.
I'll be adding SCREEN SHOTS of all the other apps I use, like I say there are over 300 now and none are just, I've weeded through a few hundred more and deleted them, but what I have now in Science, history, health, etc., are awesome and I use them frequently.
My favorite category of Apps are music players. One company got smart and the use the same player with preloaded genres of music in each free app (you see them for $.99 but they are always on sale) so in 2 folders I have 24 styles of music divided into dozens or Internet radio stations which play as you surf other stuff on the device.
I'll add the screen shots showing the apps names when I'm on Tapatalk and please check out the great collection.

So.... What do you use often, which one fascinate you, which are total garbage and why. Let's use this post as an App Sounding Board and really try to build up a data base of great stuff together.
