I don't remember seeing info on this.  I just did a quick search in the queen rearing section and didn't find anything.  Is there another thread with the details?
Thanks

Robo,
Thank you.
I think there is 6 coming down from New York. I will not call them out here.

fermentedhiker,
Being somewhat new here, I have not posted or in any way tried to advertise here. The queen class can be seen if you click on the Bjorn Apiaries website.

I know several people had contacted me earlier about the two classes we are holding this year. Both are close to being booked. We do limit attendance. So if you want to attend do not delay registering.

Thank you.

Thanks I'll check it out.  It's been awhile since I looked at your site.  I may be jumping the gun with the idea of queen rearing.  That is I'm still working out the details of finding management techniques and what will work best in my area.  But ultimately that is the direction I would like to head.  Rearing locally acclimatized survivor stock seems like a not only an interesting and rewarding endeavor but considering the state of the industry a very useful one as well.  Now I'm going to have to start looking for some places to setup outyards :)

Thank you Greg.

The day turned out to be great weather, after 3 straight days of rain prior.

I met several beemaster folks including Robo for the first time. It was great to see the group make the trip from New York state.

It is always funny to see how far different people are from the perception one has from just chattering on a bee forum. People always seem way nicer in person.

Everyone had among other things, the opportunity to graft, we cages queens, moved cells, hygienic tested hives, evaluated queens and had great stories to share.

Thank you to everyone who attended.

From the forum I met Bassman1977, Greg Peck, and of course Mike.   It was an excellent event and keeping with my usually tradition, I took a whopping 2 pictures.  Always have good intentions of taking pictures, but somehow end up with none or very few.

I met a great bunch of beekeepers,  learned some stuff, saw some stuff for the first time,  and had a whole lot of good conversation.

Mike,  I'm sure you have had plenty of positive feedback,  but I just want to add that the crew from NY had nothing but good things to say.  A few of them have been going the many talks and classes and ranked this one right up there at the top.

Also, kudos to your mom and wife for their hospitality and feeding us so well.

I didn't realize how much I could fall behind just being away a 1 1/2 days.     :-P

This was a fun day.  I think my buddy (new beek) had a brain overload once it was all said and done.

Bjorn, you're a hell of an instructor.  Great job.  Robo & Greg, it was great meeting you guys there.  It's always nice to put faces to the names on the forum and I agree with Bjorn's statement "It is always funny to see how far different people are from the perception one has from just chattering on a bee forum. Yeah I did not even recognize Robo. I had seen photos of him online but Bassman had to point him out. I had not seen any photos of bassman so I had no idea what he looked like but figured it out when I heard him talking about Danville Pa. Anyway, here are a few things I learned. When grafting you must get a 1 day old larva "4 day old egg" for maximum results. It is possible to graft older larvas but the queen quality goes down. For some reason I thought that if it was too old the bees would not raise it. So this last batch of queens I raised may have been grafted to late because some of them are not producing as they should for first year queens. I guess I will try again with some new genetics and see what happens. 2nd was a good way to tell what the queens actual genetics are is to look at drowns in the hive as they only carry her genetics and not half her and half what ever drone the queen had mated with. There was a lot more but it is late and I just got back from a 12 hour work day so I need to get off the computer.

Mike please let me know when you have a queen you can spare.
Thanks aging for the class and a good time.

The penguins shirt and the penguins logo on the side of the Jeep gave Andy away :-P  I've seen your avatar, but didn't recognize you until Shaun called you over to the table.   I just thought maybe you had plan changes.   Anyway, it was great meeting you guys and it a heck of a good time,  even if I had to get up at 2AM :?
