Title: My Grandson and my Nephew -- my guitar heros!!!
Post by: Cindi on February 13, 2008, 09:54:56 am
Today the children in our district have the day off school.  As is usual, my Grandsons stay overnight, we are merely 20 feet from their home, but there is no place on earth that they would rather sleep.  So they do. Along in tow usually comes a friend or a Nephew.  This past night my oldest Grandson (12) invited his best friend, his Cousin, who is one year older to spend the night.  They will play guitar, play some computer game, watch TV and probably stay up half the night.  Why do kids want to stay up late?  That is beyond me....I love to go to bed early, get up early, and have fun, fun, fun in my day, whatever that day may bring.  The youngest Grandson will try to stay up late, he is 8, but he probably only made it to 10:00.  We have a basement suite that we don't use for a basement suite.  It is a staying overnight basement suite.  It is where I do things....like extract honey in that kitchen, make wine in that kitchen, and thank goodness it is fully equipped (well, pretty much, doesn't have dishes or cooking utensils, but they are upstairs, hee, hee), and a bathroom.  Boys love to drink alot of stuff that makes them do that pee thing.  The fact that they can pee downstairs (or outside) is a wonderful thing, they don't run up and down the stairs half the night long.

Hmmm.....where was I?  Right, my guitar heros.  I come from a very talented family (hope I don't sound like a braggart, certainly not intended to sound that way, just telling the truth  ;) :) :)), my Father was Swedish, my Mother Finnish, my family has talents galore.  We are all very musically inclined, we are all talented with designing and building (well, I don't build, but my Sister that lives on our property and is my partner in crime, hee, hee, is a master of this, she can design stuff with wood and clothing material, she is an EXTREMELY talented woman).  She designs the most beautiful wood structures, her deck is something to behold and she can design clothing like nothing on this earth.  All her 7 children play guitars and musical instruments.  Eeeks!!!!  I am now ramblin', someone stop me, I have a very specific story to tell, oh no!!!

Right, back to where I was....where was that anyways? Right.  My Grandson and Nephew are playing their guitars.  We bought my Grandson a guitar for his birthday about 3 years ago and he has only expressed a slight interest in playing, up until about a month ago.  My Nephew has been playing for a couple of years and is good.  He has been teaching my Grandson may things on the guitar lately, and he is learning fast.  Last night they were both in my kitchen playing, and they were intent, so intent, I had to take a picture.  They were so intent that they didn't even notice me standing there, clicking away.  One day we will have a band, many, many members of this guitar band, hee, hee, just kidding........have the most greatest and awesome day, we all love our life we live.  Cindi

Boys do love guitars, don't they?  I wonder if I'll have grandchildren someday?  Not yet, my boys aren't ready to be daddies (please!!).  You're lucky you have your family so close, Cindi, I know you know that!

Ann, wait until you have Grandchildren, there is nothing on earth like that.

This is a funny picture.  I am 55, my oldest Granson is 13.  I could become a Great Grandma by the time I am 60, should he wed and have children at an early age.  Now that is a strange looking picture, 60, a Great Grandma, hee, hee, have the most beautiful, awesome day, love our earth we share.  Cindi
