I was watching my hive when a yellow jacket landed on the ground in front of it just as I was going to step on it zoom a girl came out of the hive and killed it. WOW that was cool to see :-D

I have saw them kill hornets and once I saw two honey bees carry a nosey bumble off the front porch and then dispatch him :-D

That is cool. I got to see that with a bumblebee earlier this year. Another bumble came by a few days later and the girls instantly got their defenses up. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook) the bumble got away just as fast as she came.

Cicada killers are a normal sight here. Very interesting and scary looking fella! We used to harass them when we were young.

I never heard of a cicada killer so I looked it up... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHOTx6ybKRQ
Let me tell you this... I see one of those, and I will be in the next county before that sucker has any thoughts in her fat head to sting me.

I watched my girls get rid of a red wasp the other day I have seen them run just about everything off! We have lots of cicada killers around my place they have never bothered me or the grand kids, they just move out of the way (the cicada killers). In the last couple of week I have been over run by Scoliid wasps, hundreds of them, they just fly at grass top level looking for grubs to lay their eggs in. Have watched honey bees on clover and the wasps go all around them, they have not bothered the bees or us they just move out of the way. It is strange walking through hundreds of them and not being bothered.
