Aluminum-metallic hive paint
« on: May 09, 2013, 02:37:05 pm »
I've seen this option of paint in the catalogs for a long time - the shiny aluminum metallic paint.  While it is technically true that some of my colonies were so awesomely magnificent that they really deserved nothing less than a hive that blinds anyone within a quarter mile who gazes upon it on a sunny day, I have to admit that I've also wondered about the practical benefits and/or detriments to this kind of paint.

Logically, it would reflect all kinds of sunlight, making it ideal for places with long hot summers and short mild winters - a place such as that where I now live.  But does anyone here have any direct experience with it?

Used it only for painting metal roofs.
