Title: Removal needed in Thomasville, Alabama
Post by: Intheswamp on June 12, 2012, 10:48:03 pm
I got a call today from a lady from Texas.  Seems her family has a cabin over in the Thomasville, Alabama (Clarke County) area that a colony of honey bees has moved into.  I was in a bad reception area for my cellphone so didn't get a lot of information other than the bees are in a soffit. They found the bee removal list on the Alabama Beekeepers Association website but did not find any beeks from the area that were interested in doing the removal.

I'm not sure of the property owner's readiness to pay to have a removal done, but they live in Texas and have a cabin in south Alabama which I figure is for deer hunting purposes so I would think they could handle financing a removal...whether they *want* to pay for one is another story for the potential bee remover to cover with them.  If anyone is interested in the removal give me a holler and I'll get your contact info to the property owners.  I would give it a try myself but I'm 100 miles away and it would be my first removal...if I went I'd probably forget my smoker.

Thanks,
Ed

If she can wait a bit until I am freed up I could handle it for her. My people are from Clarke County and we still have the home place in Grove Hill. I've been trying to get away to visit the home place and tend to my grandparents graves. It will hopefully be sometime this month. Have her give me a call.

Thanks, it's somewhere around three to four one way but if she wants to pay for a removal it will pay my expenses and I will be glad to do it.
If she is like I and many others whose family originated in Clarke I bet she and I are related. My bunch got there in 1813 and over the years all of the old families have intermarried so much you need a scorecard to figure it all out.

David, I left a message on the lady's voice mail yesterday and called again today but got no answer.  If I hear anything from her I'll give her your info.
